A few questions about bettas?
1. Does anybody know where I could find bettas with unique colors and/or patterns? You know, other than the ones you usually see at stores?
2. If I were to keep a betta by itself, what is the recommended size of aquarium I should keep it in? Not bigger than it has to be, but not so small it’s sad.
3. Can you keep bettas with other fish in a tank? (My tank has a golden wonder killifish, 3 comet goldfish, 2 blue gouramis, 1 gold gourami, and an albino cory cat)
1. Online or a breeder (aquabid.com) I’ve found beautiful bettas at local pet stores with different tail types, colors/patterns!
2. 5-10 Gallons! If you’re tight on space…then perhaps 2-3 gallons.
3. I wouldn’t suggest placing your betta fish with any other fish unless the tank is at least 10 gallons, plenty of hiding places and the fish won’t harm your betta/the betta wont harm it. You can keep a female soroity tank (2-3 females for a 10 gallon tank) but some bickering will break out between the females. It’d be best to give your betta his own tank, 5 gallons at least with heater, so he’ll be happier!
