Which kind of betta fish can I can for my baby biorb?

My pet shop lady says I can only get a betta for this tank. I have been researching online and there is more than one kind. Which species can I get?
Can I get a Siamese fighting fish? I really like them.
They look big though:

I would not recommend these tanks because they do not have enough surface area, but if you are going to set this tank up then i would suggest under stocking this tank with SMALL fish.

I would suggest some tetra like amber or neon’s, they are very pretty.

my betta fish has tail rot!!?

i am giving my male betta fish the right medicine for tail rot and his tale is getting shorter and shorter, what do you think is happening and how do you think i can solve this problem,

What medication are you using? You will need to use Maracyn Two. Sounds like you are either using the wrong medication, or it has only been a short time using the medication or that it may be severe fin rot and the bacteria has taken over. Water changes and the correct water temperature is very important in treating illness in fish. The temp in the tank should be between 78-82 F at all times. Also if you have the fish in a small bowl you should be doing complete water changes every other day.

My betta is a male. He lives in a 2.5 gallon tank. There are plenty of hiding spots. The tank also has plants, gravel, a filter, heater, light, and decorations.
