Is my Betta fish sick or just old?

Ive had him for over a year and a half. He doesn’t eat anymore, he spits it out. He he always laying on his side at the bottom of the tank or in some weird position, and he barley moves. He also doesn’t really have much colour to him anymore. What can I do?
I was thinking it might be swim bladder disease. Does anyone know how to cure that?

i mean its a fish.. idk if you can take them to a vet… maybe he will get better on his own.. maybe its just a mid life crisis. good luck!!

How do I get my sick betta to eat?

I bought two betas two weeks ago. They were in a 5 gal divided tank (permeable divider) without a filter. Four days ago, Sushi showed signs of a columnaris infection (fuzzy column-like growths) on the very top of his head so I treated with antibiotics. He died that night. The next day, Wasabi had the fuzz on the top of his head so I continued to treat with antibiotics. He normally eats 1-2 pellets a day but started spitting out food when the infection appeared. I crushed his Hikari pellets and fed them, but now spits them out too. His colour is not good but he is still active and responsive. Its been 3 days since he’s had anything to eat- I’ve bought blood worms and flakes but he wouldn’t even try them. He seems unable to swallow. The fuzz had gone away but there is 3 more days of treatment left. My ammonia/nitrate etc are good. There is no chlorine or chloramine in the water. I’ve also added aquarium salt (tsp/gal) and StressCoat. Suggestions?

Get Wasabi out of the tank he is in and put him in a temporary place, like a cup or something, now drain the water competely out wash it with a little bleach. Fill the tank back up but dont put fish in yet. Now, go to wal mart or wherever, and get some fungal and ick treatment tabs, round tabs as big as quarters. Place one of each in his tank and let settle for three to four hours. Now take half of the colored water out and replace with fresh water with chlorout of course. Put Wasabi back in there and he will be cured within three days. I have fought the fish monster your facing and won. Trust me and follow these steps for your fish’s sake. GOOD LUCK.
