Yes you can keep them together if you buy them small. They will school around your 55 gallon. Just get them all the same size even when they are small so there is less reason for competition between fish

Betta Fish Gardens can a female or male betta go good with mollies, platies, glofish, zebra danios, and a small garden snail?
my friend said she would take one of my bettas but i dont know if a female betta or male betta will go good with mollies, 4 platies, 4 glofish,7 zebra danios, and a small garden snail? or can i put the male and female in the same 20 gallon tank with all those other fish? what should i do!
If that was a garden snail it would have drowned by now, I think you mean you’ve got an Apple Snail.
Male Bettas do NOT get on well with Danios/Glofish – these guys are just too active and will entirely pee off the male! And steal all his dinner. Not recommended.
A tough female is more able bodied however and could cope as long as she was fed carefully so she wasn’t beaten to dinner, but with all those Danios your tank sounds pretty full!
