Discus Fish Light What happens when you leave the aquarium light off and the room where the aquarium is is dark?
Do the fish sleep?
Cause I have a Discus and some Cardinal Tetras and when there is no light in the room/aquarium, the Discus will be at the bottom of the aquarium and so would the cardinals. Their colours change too.
Why is this?
At night in nature predators come out to eat so when it is night fish change to dull Colors as part to hide and the stay nonactive so to not be eaten so yeah it is normal and they do sleep as well.

Betta Fish Lights Do betta fish need a light in the tank when its dark?
I have a betta fish and i was wondering, when its night time do they need a light?
No.
Once you turn off the light it lets them rest.
Its essentially like us going to sleep. Most people prefer to sleep in the dark. So do our fish. If you leave a light on all the time its actually harmful.
