go to a fish store and ask for canister filter media Fluval FX5. They use a foam pad, carbon, and like little round white things used for bacteria. Usually you need to buy a mesh bag(like 1 dollar), buy a huge box of biomax/carbon and fill it up. That is like the best canister filter on the market
Its a very good filter, Fluval makes quality products. As well as Eheim. But for the money Rena Xp3 is the way to go. Extremely reliable canister filters and have much more surface area to collect beneficial bacterias. They are nearly silent as well, I cant say the same for Fluval. Fluvals are known to get loud after slight use. Id go with Rena if I were you. Sounds like you got a decent sized tank.
