need cichlid help!!! will they go together.?
i have a 170 gallon tank. it is 5ft long 2.5ft high and 2ft wide.. i have a 3inch jaguar cichlid, a 3 inch jack dempsey cichlid, and a green terror.i also have a 25cm pleco.. i have plenty caves, but i want to know is it worth putting them together. an will this tank size be big enough for these fish? the filteration on this tank is a fluval 404 canister filter and 2 spr 1100 internal filter.. if i culd had any more fish let me know what kinds ty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALJeyLL_OWY wacth the link.. im getn rid of the 1 of the green terrors
You can never be certain with large cichlids as they have individual personalties.
But a set up like that has the best chance of working. Big tank, starting the fish out small and letting them grow up together. The Jaguar is the main concern, if it is happy to live with the other fish, then you are probably OK. If it goes postal on them, not much you can do apart from separating them.
Only way to know for sure is to try, but I would have a “plan B” to remove any fish that’s getting bullied.
