I am looking for local fish breeders in wv (eastern panhandle area), md (western md) or va. I am in falling waters. I want to buy discus and angelfish locally. Pet stores are over priced. Thanks, hopefully someone can answer me and let me know people around my area.
I suggest craigslist. There are always breeders trying to sell their fry. I’ve seen mostly cichlids, angelfish, and live-bearers. I would also try joining a fish forum, and asking around.
Personally, I’ve been trying to find someone (anyone really) who sells Bolivian/German rams. No such luck.

Discus Fish Room Would a 55 gallon fish tank make my floor sag?
I want a 55 or 75 gallon but I’m worried that my house (made in 1970s ish) is not strong enough to support 600+ lbs. It will be next to a wall in my 9×11 ft room. My parents would kill me if i damaged the house. Also, how many discus could I keep in a 75 gallon? Any ideas? thanks
It really depends on the construction of your house. If you can find out the direction of the floor joists then try to position it so that it has the joists at 90 degrees to the long face of your tank. This way the weight of the tank is spread across more than 1 joist.
