Betta Fish Goldfish Food Can I feed my betta fish Goldfish flakes?
When we bought my fishbowl, we originally planned on getting a goldfish and the fishbowl was a complete pack with gravel and food and stuff. The fish food they gave us were goldfish flakes. We ended up getting a betta fish and I tried feeding him the goldfish flakes but i’m not sure if he’s eating them. He kind of eats them and then spits it back out. I find a lot floating around, some are still floating around the top right now and i fed him right before i left for school. Should I buy different fish food?

Get him food meant for carnivorous fish.
Goldfish are omnivores and have lots of veggie matter in their food.
Betta are carnivorous and benefit from a higher protein diet meant for carnivores.
Never feed more than the fish can eat in a few minutes, remove any uneaten food. Leaving that uneaten food on the top like that will only help to make the water quality poor in no time!

Hello! my tank dimention is: 1meter length/35cm width/49cm height. Would you tell me how much the power of the filter should be? Because I don’t want the filter absorb all the food at once while the discus fish need the water stable (as far as I know).Thank you!
Your tank is about 40 -45 gallons so a filter that is strong enough or stronger would be good, most canisters you can get a spray bar for this will gently distribute the water or just use the regular attachments and for feeding, do a little at a time as discus are usually shy. they also need softer water so keep that in mind when you set it up. The canister will be quiet and very effective as well you don’t need to clean them as often and you will still have a stable tank.

Actually, bettas can be kept safely with other fish as long as the other fish do not have large amounts of finnage. Bettas react to large, showy fins. They do not attack these fish to eat them, they attack them because they feel threatened by them.
So look for a fish that likes the same tank conditions as a betta and does not have large fins. I would also recommend choosing a fish that is larger than the betta and not known for being aggressive.
Oh, and as a side note, FEMALE betta are usually a lot less agressive than male bettas and can be kept more easily with other fish and other female bettas. However, they cannot be kept with males long-term, only temporarily for breeding (and with supervision). But they aren’t as pretty as the males.
