Betta fish colors fading?
I have seven betta fish and recently bought a new one, about three weeks ago. When I first saw him at the store he was absolutely beautiful: his body was a dark blue, and his fins were a bold red. When I brought him home and looked at him his colors has faded!! They haven’t come back completely since, and this morning he was completely yellow…what’s wrong with him?
The water quality is fine, there’s nothing wrong with it that would stress him out, and I keep paper inbetween the different tanks so the bettas can’t see eachother, because I did notice that was stressing them out. For the past few days I’ve been feeding him this food with color enhancers in it in hopes to help him out with the colors coming back, but that doesn’t seem to be working at all.
It could simply be a light colored background and substrate. Bright lights may also cause fading due to stress, as will cool water.
