Glass Betta Fish Bowls

My fish’s bowl has bubbles on it?

I got a new Male Betta fish last friday and i put it in a small glass bowl. i feed it as directed and the water is not too hot or too cold. but today when i looked at the water in the bowl it had small bubbles at the side, a lot of them and my fish keeps staring at them. i have two other Male Bettas in two seperate bowls and they have bubbles on top of their water also. does anyone know what this means? Thanks for your help

They are building “bubble nests”. Males bettas will do this in preparation for breeding; it is where they would put the eggs while they develop. I’ve had over 10 bettas over the past several years, but not all of them have built nests. I found that the ones who did were the happiest and healthiest. Your bettas will probably build one and attend to it for about 7-10 days; then he will get bored of it and let the bubbles go away. He might do this every month or two.

Hanging Betta Fish Bowls

I need help finding the right fish with the right tank?

i have a fish bubble ( if you don’t know what that is.. it is a hanging aquarium that is in the shape of a half circle) i need to know what fish to put in there…. anything but betta. nothing to boring.. a fish that is colorful.
the aquarium doesn’t have a filter or really anything.. its like a hanging bowl.

I’m sorry but that is only suitable for a few Bamboo sticks. I have it too and that’s what I have in it. It cannot be fitted with a filter or a heater, and it is too small for fish.

A Betta fish is probably the only fish that is able to survive in those conditions. Because of their labyrinth organ they are often subjected to terrible living conditions. But even a Betta deserves a heated, filtered, 2.5+ aquarium.

All fish require room to swim and a filtered, cycled tank.
