How many hours should I have my fish tank light on for?
Im getting a betta fish.
I have a biube and the tube in the middle is growing algae.
there are no other fish in the tank
should i get a light that has the smart timer on it?
how many hours is the maximum!?
How much light your tank gets is important! Do some research on your fish ex how much light they get in their habitat. I’m not sure what bettas prefer.
I have a 110 saltwater aquarium, a timer is very important also, my fish get6 to 8 hrs of light, depending on what time of year it is (daylight savings). A timer keeps you fish on a schedule, they know they will get sunlight at the same time everyday. The sun comes up about the same time everyday…right. Overall if ur fish get a routine/same amount of light at a consistant time frame, they will overall be healthy.
I have halides on my tank which presents a heat issue, which heats the tank up also…..which the warmer your tank is the faster you algae populations will grow….
Fyi, I’ve learned all this the hard way from when I started out as a rookie with saltwater. Hope this helps!!
