Betta Fish Bowls Is it possible to use a heating pad under my betta fish bowl?
I live overseas and have a small betta fish bowl for 3 bettas, and they need to be warm. The tank is much to small for a submersible heater, but the water is too cold. Can I use a heating pad? If so, how do I set it up?
They are male bettas and are in a tri(divided) tank.
you could but it wouldn’t work right. There is really no way to maintain temp in small bowls. You could place the pad under the bowl and adjust it to the temp, but then the bowl (small containers cannot maintain temp) will leak the heat and the temp will be way off, you would probably end up with really warm water at the bottom and cool water at the top after many many adjustments and then have sick fish. I sugest just moving up in tank size even a 2 gallon tank will do much better than a bowl and a small heater can be purchased also. The bigger the tank the less heat it leaks.

Betta Fish Bowl Why does my 1 gallon fish bowl get dirty so fast(betta fish)?
ok like 3 days after my betta fish bowl (water)gets dirty so fast,why? and i have another question why do i feel like it is real lonely and needs someone?lol
Because waste quickly builds up which also causes a bulid up in ammonia. That’s why getting a tank and filter helps out a lot.
When you have a betta in a bowl witout filtration, water changes should be done 3x a week just to keep the ammonia levels down which can become toxic to your fish.
And don’t worry its not lonely . Betta fish in the wild stake out their own territories and live alone and really dont prefer company. But if you wish to make it happier, maybe but it a decoration or two to hide in along with some plants.

Betta Fish Bowls do betta fish bowls need an air filter?
Bettas benefit greatly from the same care as any other tropical fish. In that they do benefit from a properly cycled filter, sponge filters are ideal as they don’t give off too much current. A good filter will keep water quality healthy. Without a filter you are at great risk from water quality fluctuations which leads to bacterial infections, lethargy and ultimately could kill the Betta.
They do not require air stones or bubblers, these are merely decorative anyway.
