Odd Betta Fish Behavior

Betta Fish?

I’ve owned a betta fish before but yesterday I bought my mom one for her. Ever since I bought it back from the store it hasn’t eaten the pellets I dropped in his tank. My other betta fish reacts to movements around his tank but this new betta fish doesn’t. The new one also doesn’t swim around much–he just sits at the top of the tank in a corner. I know he’s alive because when I blow lightly on the top of the water he reacts to it. Is this odd behavior or am I just being too worried?

if the betta has been fed something besides pellets he may not reconize them as food..try flakes..make sure they say at least 40% protein..they eat bugs in the wild and their guts are designed to eat protein…also check that the flakes say..will not cloud water…he may be a little stressed from being moved..your water may be different than the water the store used..i have 9 of them and never buy one that is just laying around in their little cups they keep them in..i tap the side and see how they react..a healthy fish will take notice or even flare at you.

Beta Fish shows weird behavior! WHY?
