Water conditioner and Betta fish?
I just got my male betta fish a few days ago. I woke up this morning and found one of my betta fish shaking. So, I turned to google. I read that a lack of water conditioner could be the issue. So I impulsively poured 8 drops of water conditioner in their tanks while they were still in there. I realized this wasn’t such a great idea after I did it. I chalk it up to my inexperience and the fact that it was 4am in the morning.
My question: Are the fish going to be okay? Should I just leave them alone or is the water conditioner going to harm them? And why were they shaking? My room has to be at least 78 degrees.
the drops of water conditioner will not harm your fish( it was made for the use in tanks that contain fish)
however in the future remember to use it before you place fish in the water
the shaking is probably an aggressive posture
if you have both male Betta’s in one tank they will fight (sometimes to the death) if not in the same tank make sure they cannot see each other or themselves (reflections in tank glass)
