does any one know anything about the FLUVAL U3 filter venturi ?

I am realy curious on weather i need to use the venturi on this filter or not?
as it tells me if i do i have to have it out of the water and now im real confused on how to position it as my old filter is completely different?? Thanks x
thanks do u mean an air hose that would go on an air pump?
and if i dont use thwe venturi does it totally submurge in the water?

I prefer not to use the venturi attachment, but some people like the bubbles. To work the top of the venturi attachment needs to be out of the water. You can use an air hose to make it reach, or use the plug, or leave it open.

Here is the manual.

Edit:
Yes, you can get all sorts of tubes and hose as long as it fits in the hole and the venturi attachment to extend that air intake upwards. I haven’t tried this exact model, but the normal airline tubing (the small hoses) usually works well.

Yes. The entire thing should be in the water with just the venturi portion sticking out (if you are using it). If you don’t plan on using it, the whole thing should be under. But if a little bit sticks above the water line it doesn’t seem to hurt.
