Help choosing the right external filter for my fish tank?
Hi all
I have a Juwel Trigon 350litre fish tank.
I don’t like the box filter in there so wish to remove it a replace it with a external filter…
I keep discus and community fish.
I want to buy a external but with so many to choose from what should i looking for?
Ive seen some cheap
Aqua one CF1200
tetratec ex1200
2000 e/f with uv lamp

These filters are coming in at less than £80 Ive seen expensive ones such as fluval ehiems etc but can’t see the difference on spec.
Can anyone explain what filter i should buy and if i should avoid cheap filters etc? detailed explanation would nice so future purchases…
P.S kept tropical fish for 5 years know about water changes etc Owned a fluval 305 before on my other tank but never messed with equipment till i now i have…

Based on my own experience owning and using a few different brands of filters, I would recommend the Aquaclear. I recently set up the Aquaclear 20 for my 10 gallon tank, and never realized that a filter could be so quiet. Not only does it keep my tank crystal clear, the only sound coming from it is the sounds of water. it has a media area that you can choose what to use in, I have mine running with a sponge, ceramic media, and sponge as I have only 2 fish there and do not feel the need for much more. I have a smaller tank running the regent 5-15, and you can hear the motor as well as water…There are so many choices, maybe you could check out what you LFS runs and get some advice there too…
