Hi, I was wondering what type of plants can i have in a Discus(fish), and tetra aquarium.?
I want to create a Bio type (natural), aquarium for the fish.
For a biotope aquarium, you want plants native to the Amazon Basin.
Amazon Sword plants come to mind as one example.
I wouldn’t use Java Fern or Java Moss, since (obviously) they are Asian, not South American.
Really, what kind of plants you can have is determined primarily by the amount of light in your tank. Discus won’t eat plants, and seldom even dig them up (unlike most other cichlids). Most tetras won’t bother plants, either.
