Betta Fish Won't Eat
How often should i clean my betta fish tank? Also why won’t he eat?

I have one betta fish in a aproxamitley 16 litre tank with a filter and a heater. How often shoould i clean his tank? And also he hasn’t eaten anything in 4 day’s i try to feed him just normail fish flakes, he follows the floating food around the tank but he won’t eat it, Is their something wrong with him? Answers much appreciated!

If your Betta is new many of them are use to the type of food the fish store was feeding them. Though they can eat regular tropical fish flake food they should be eating food designed for Betta’s while a variety will keep them in good health the best thing for them is pellets. The tank is pretty small I would do a partial water change 50% or so water change a week as long as you have a filter. Betta’s can go a surprisingly long time without food in the wild meals are few and far between. Though make sure you get him some pellets. If he is exhibiting other signs that something may be wrong like being rather listless, pale, clamped fins and such I would look into your fish potentially being sick. He just may not like the food you are trying to feed him.
