How to acclimate Betta to new Heater/Temp.??

I currently have a Betta in a 5 gallon hexi tank (acrylic), with no heater (water temp is 70). I just bought a marineland stealth 25 watt heater to add to tank. Do I turn it on to 71 degrees and then just turn it up a degree or two every few days? Or turn it to 78 degrees right away? What’s best for the fish?

If you want to, you could add the heater and up the temp. everyday by 1-3 degrees. Or you could go the easy way. You can take out your Betta, and put him in a small cup or bowl. Turn your heater to around 80 degrees ( That’s Betta Temperature. ) Then after 10-20 minutes float you Betta ( In the cup or small bowl. ) In the tank. Let it float for around 15 minutes. By then you Betta should have adjusted to the temp. You can then let him out.
