Betta Fish Water Film
Betta Fish Water Film

Can I feed my betta fish this?
There is this ditch in our backyard and I scooped out some water and found these little bugs abot this at big as this star * they are round and black and move around a lot. I am freezing them now can I feed them to my betta?
ANOTHER IMPORTANT QUESTION
————————————————-
The water in the tank is clear on the inside but a fish just died in there and I took it out. Now there is this greyish clearish film at the top with little bubbles. What is this? What can I do? The fish seems just fine. Will it hurt my betta?
Yes, you can feed thse to your betta! Good betta food! An easy way is to use an ice cube tray. Put just a little tank water in each spot and a few of your food bugs. Freeze them that way and they are already in single serving portions! Freeze as many as you can get while they are there and when the ditch dries up or the bugs aren’t there anymore you will still have this special treat.
You need to do a water change to help get rid of the film in the tank. You can probably scoop some of it out with a net before you change the water.
EDIT: G makes a good point, if the ditch smells or have any oily looking film it would be better not to use those food items. Otherwise I say go for it. I collect as much live food as possible for my fish and as long as you are careful it works out fine.
