Betta Fish Temperature Shock
If you are increasing the temperature in your aquarium?
I have one Betta. The water temp is 68 F and I just bought a heater today. Roughly what length of time should it take to increase the temperature 10 degrees without throwing the fish into shock? I’m assuming the website that said 76 F to 80 F for Betta’s is correct.
I would slowly increase the setting on the heater so the 10 degree increase takes at least 2 to 3 days. Any faster may not directly kill your fish, but it will cause it to be stressed which will make it susceptible to parasites/diseases.
