Betta Fish Tanks Size

Is this good for my betta fish?
OK, so I have my Female Betta in a small fish tank that’s most likely 1 gallon and seems perfectly happy. Every day I feed her she does half back flips and eats. My mom is think of getting a Medium sized tank for fresh water fish, but Bettas usually attack the other fish. So my question is should I try to get a bigger tank for Pandora, my Betta? thx
Alec, how do I see if my fish gets along with other fish?
hi Lydia S
i love the name Pandora you pick a pretty name for your fish, having said that ,a betta can live in a 1 gallon but they grow like any other fish and they do best in a 3 to 5 gallon tank.if you are thinking of putting them with other fish you would want 10 or more gallons.some betta do well with other fish some don’t ,with a betta having long fin other fish will pick at them ,are there could be fights and some Betta’s will hide a lot in a tank with other fish, than some love it , you have a female and i think they get along better with other fish than a male would . if you are going to put her by herself a 5 gallon will give her swimming room and they do best with a heater at around 80 degrees, you can fix it up with a lot of pretty plants and shrimps are good tank mates for a betta, i have some ghost shrimp with mine and they help keep it clean! so yes i think that would be a great idea for you to get her a bigger tank!
