can you use melafix to cure fin rot?
i got a betta fish with fin/tail rot about a mouth ago and i am was useing melafix for 3 weeks and i a m not seeing a sign of regrowth in his tail,so what should i do get a diffrenet medication orkeep useing melafix
melafix and pimafix are crap … i had a puffer with a bacterial infection and i used melafix for one week, pimafix for another week, melafix and pimafix for another week, and i tried adding salt to the water and increasing the temp of the hospital tank … none of that helped … i finally healed the guy with an antibiotic … i would make sure the fish has really clean water with regular water changes … fin rot is a bacterial infection too so a medication such as erythromycin would be helpful (or any med that treats bacterial infections) … i have used this with success several times …

it is virtually impossible to have nitrates at 0 so don’t shoot for that … if people get 0 for nitrates it is their test kit or they are testing wrong …
