Betta Fish Swim Bladders
Can I feed my betta fish a sweet pea?

Okay so my betta fish has a swim bladder disorder. She has been floating to the top for quite some time and has been alive six months. I dont have any normal peas, so can I feed her a sweet pea? Will it help her? Also here’s a bonus questions: my fish has a white dot underneath her… What is it? If it’s bad how do I help? Please answer I’ve finished cooking the peas and are cooling down now. Thanks! And will it hurt my fish if I continue doing 100% water changes? There’s no way I could scoop the poop up because my net won’t fit into my tiny bowl.

hi there! first of all, the white spot underneath your bettas belly is called an ovipository. it’s where the eggs come out when bettas spawn. now, regarding your main question, i believe boiled peas are excellent treatment for swim bladder disorder. However, I’m not really sure about sweet pea since I’ve never tried it yet. Now, when it comes to 100% water changes, I don’t think it’s bad. In fact, massive water changes are the best way to maintain the health of your betta especially if you’re keeping him in a small tank without any filter.

There you go. I hope I answered your question. Good luck with your betta!
