Betta Fish Pregnancy

Did My Betta Lay Eggs ?

I Have Two Female Betta Fish ; One I’ve Had Longer Than The Other . The One I’ve Had Longer “Jay” , Appeared To Me As If She Had Those Pregnancy Stripes , A Couple Of Weeks Ago . Today , As I Was Feeding Them , I Seen A Bunch Of White Little Balls That Looked Like Styrofoam At The Bottom ; And Her Stripes Weren’t There Anymore . No Male Betta Fish Hasn’t Been In There Until Today , Because I Figured A Male Has To Care For Them . PLZ Answerr :)

Are you overfeeding? The white balls could be fungus on old food or basically just be rotting food.

The stripes are stress stripes and not unusual for the less dominant female to show in a tank with multiple betta. Or a stressed fish to show.

Yes, they can sometimes produce eggs without a male, but usually would reabsorb them.

They are dead eggs if they are eggs as they obviously were not fertilized, get the male out of there as he will do nothing to help and cannot fertilize the dead eggs.

Get the “eggs” out of there because regardless if they are eggs or rotting food they are polluting the tank and rotting.
