Betta Fish Plants Vase
Betta Fish Plants Vase

Is it okay to keep my betta fish in a 3/4 gallon vase?
Marbles at the bottom, no plant, regular water changes. He’s on my coffee table. Water is at room temperature, as it should be. 10 pts best answer!
Can your fish survive in that? probably…
Is it ideal for him? No, not even close.
Every fish should have a heater, and a filter, regardless of what the people at the pet store tell you. If you want your fish to live the longest possible, and be the healthiest he can be, get him a real tank with a filter and a heater.
Betta’s should be in a tank at the very minimum of two gallons, but even that is too small for most people. I personally think you should go with atleast a 5 gallon tank.
Betta’s like water at a minimum of 76 degrees, thats warmer than room temperature. and ideally you want it around 78-84. They are tropical fish, they need warmer water.
I always suggest a filter, but if you can keep on top of regular water changes, you can be able to get away without one. Betta’s can actually breathe air from the surface so they don’t need air to be put into the water. If you do opt for a filter, make sure its a low flow filter, the don’t do well in strong currents. A filter means you don’t have to do water changes as often.
Check out the link in my source, it has a lot of good information!
Good luck!
