Betta Fish Help Needed?
I have a betta in a 4 gallon tank and the guy used to be quite active but now he likes lying down most of the time – either behind a rock or on the substrate – ive put a platy with him to keep him company. But hes just not as active as he once was.
he was originally in a 15gal by himself and i moved him to the smaller tank like a week ago which i cycled by using a whisper filter that i used in the original 15gal.
he seems fine when theres food being offered but apart from that just is generally lazy.
i noticed he was growing a few white spots and treated the water for ich. it shouldnt be a problem i caught the problem quite early.
but is there something im missing or not doing?
when i introduced the platy the betta flared at it and chased it around quite a bit, but now they get along just fine.
could it have anything to do with the temperature?
Did the problem start after you put the platy in? If so that could be the problem. Bettas like to be by themselves and having another fish could be causing stress to the guy. If the problem was before the other fish then I have no idea what the problem could be, maybe he’s just getting old?
