Betta Fish Medication
Betta Fish Medication

i just found a red lump on my betta fish’s head?
the poor thing stopped eating about a week ago and for a couple days he ate again but hes stoped now. and i also found that red lump pretty small (like the size of a candy nerd?). what kinda of medication can i get for him and from where? does petco carry anything for him?
My parents used to raise betta when I was growing up and I’ve seen some fish like that. A lot of the time it went away on it’s own or stayed there and didn’t seem to bug the fish. You may be able to find some kind of medication at Petco, but it’s hard to say exactly what he needs unless you know exactly what is wrong with him. As for not eating are you sure this is related to the bump? It could Just be that you may be feeding him too much in one day. Or possibly he doesn’t like his food. They have special food for bettas you may want to try that. Most betta’s eat very little. They aren’t pigs like gold fish.
If he is in a tank with other fish I would suggest putting him in isolation for awhile until you know for sure what is wrong with him. The sad truth is he may just be old and ready to go.
I know this hasn’t been real helpful, but my Tylenol PM is kicking in so I hope it helped at least a little.
Good Luck!
