Can I Add Oxygen Tablets When I Want To Deliver My Fish?

I’m a new breeder of betta fish (Fighting Fish).. I don’t have air pumps or oxygen pumps to supply oxygen to my fish in the plastic bag that I’m going to deliver..

1. Can I add oxygen tablets in the plastic bag?

2. Where can I buy it? Pharmacies or anywhere else? (I live in Malaysia)

3. Will the oxygen tablets affects my fish?

Please help me with this.. I really appreciate your answers.. Thank you in advance.. ^_^

Actually, there are these new types of bags called ‘breather bags’. Breather bags are special types of bags that allow the flow of oxygen from the air to go into the water and allows carbon dioxide (which can be poisonous too your fish) to flow out to allow fresh oxygen in. This can allow fish to be shipped without worry of suffocation. For bettas and other types of fish that need air to live, the bag should be 2/3 portion air and 1/3 portion water. Also add heater packs in the box that you are shipping the fish in because the bettas would have a higher survival rate and wouldn’t be as stressed. Also try doublebagging the fish (to prevent leaks) and shipping as fast as possible. Here’s a link for breather bags: http://www.novalek.com/kordon/breathing_bags/index.htm
