An easy maintenance fish for an 8-year-old?
My 8-year-old sister has been wanting a pet for two years. My parents finally agreed to get her one, as long as she could take care of it. We are now on the hunt for an easy-maintenance fish that she could care for herself without much help from us. We originally thought of a betta or a goldfish, but are possibly leaning to a pair of guppies. Do you have any suggestions for a low-maintenance/low-cost (she has 30 dollars saved up, and will pay for all the equipment herself) fish that a little girl would enjoy?

A betta fish is pretty easy. i have one and i only feed it every other day. or guppies. because you dont have to feed them, but the water needs to set in a window for about a day or two to get the algae in it. thats how it survives. and the guppies come and nibble on your fingers!!!! the betta fish get scared.
