Betta Fish Life Spans

Life span of a betta fish ?

I just got my first fish yesterday, and its a beta. I’ve looked up all kinds of stuff on it, but i cant find a life span that everybody can agree on lol. So i decided to ask ppl who have had them to see how long they had theirs….

Mine is in really good health, bright colorful, and everything if that helps.

If you keep it in an unfiltered, unheated bowl/tank it can live 1-3 years but it wont be a good life.
If you keep it in a 5+ gallon heated and filtered aquarium it can live up to 7 years.

EDIT: Jamie that would be goldfish that can live up to 40 years. Many coldwater fish such as koi will like a lot longer than that.
