Does having no heater effect Betta’s life spans?
People always say Betta’s need heater. I just wanna say that I have a Betta fish, Pogo (my picture), and he doesn’t have a heater. He is a healthy happy fish and i was wondering if the heaters make a difference to their life spans? Pogo is very healthy but i wan him to live long because he is my first and doesn’t everyone? also if it does effect their lifespans by really long, whats about the least amount of money that i can buy one for? in Australian money please.
As above said, if you live in a hot part of Australia then your Betta MIGHT be ok without a heater.
If you’re not living somewhere hot then i think the Betta’s life span will drop if the water isn’t heated.
I personally would invest in a thermometer. That way you can easily check on the temperature of the tank. I would say an absolute minimum temperature of 23c would keep your Betta reasonably happy, but wouldn’t have the longest of lives. If your water temperature is below 23c then i would definitely buy a heater. The heaters i use are made by Interpet. I use the Interpet Delta Therm range. Although, i’m not sure if they’re available in Australia (or wherever you live with AUS dollars) but i think that you should be able to find one. Depending on your tank size, the prices range from 26-46 AUD.
