Is my Betta about to die?
We have had a betta fish for a long time and he is very old. Recently he hasn’t been swimming around much, and just laying on the bottom of the tank. He only gets up when we feed him? Is this a sign of an illness, or is this just a typical behavior for old bettas? He is a few yrs old.
I had a betta for 3 years and he did this all the time. He would settle to the bottom of the bowl and would look dead. As soon as I put some food in the tank he would spring back to life and swim around eating all the food. I think it more boredom than anything else. Once he started doing this I think he lived at least another year so I wouldn’t worry too much.
