I think my betta fish has ick

I just got him yesterday. He has white spots on ONE side of his face. HE has a couple on the other side of his face, but much less noticeable. They are small are less white. Do you think this is ick? I thought it goes all over their bodies. He was about the only one swimming around at the pet store, so I thought he was healthy, so I got him. Yesterday we was swimming around and seemed pretty happy, but now he’s just lying in a corner. I didn’t cycle the five gallon tank he’s in, but I’m probably going to put him in a fully cycled 10 gallon tank. I’ll keep up with the water changes. Also, this was my first time putting a fish in tap water. I put the water conditioner in. Could that be it. I don’t know how to post pictures on here. If you could tell me, that would be great. Thank You and please help.
try adding aquarium salt (1 tablespoon per 5 gallons) to prevent any infection and strengthen the immune system. a 25% water change and temperature of 80 degrees will also help.
