Betta Fish Ick Disease
Betta Fish Ick Disease

Betta fish?
My Betta babies are in danger. Two of my Betta babies died because they had a disease called “Ick” I don’t know why because it froms over night. Before I went to bed last night I fed them and they all seemed fine but then when I got home from school today, I see one of them floating dead at the top of the tank with white fuzz covered around them and it’s fins are all torn. I don’t know if they were fighting or not. I don’t think so because I don’t see any signs of fighting or any actual fighting. I have this brown mold growing in my tank and I keep cleaning it but it still gorws back. Are the babies dieing off because of that? I don’t know. Please help me. EXPERIENCED BETTA EXPERTS ONLY!
The white stuff you describe doesn’t sound like “ich”,it sounds more like fungus which is usually a secondary symptom following an injury or something like Ammonia burns. You don’t say how old the Bettas are,but if it is a growing group of fry,at some point they will begin to fight and will need to be isolated.
“Ich” looks like individual “grains of salt” sticking to the fishes sides and fins.
