Betta Fish Distilled Water
Betta Fish Distilled Water

How to distill tap water for fish?
Kso, I want to get another betta, since my last betta died of ich. And I want to use tap water. I need to know how to distill it without ANY chemicals. And I mean ANY. Just you know, distill it.
Would just letting it sit there and let the chlorine evaporate work? If so, how long? <(-_-")>
You don’t actually want ot distill the water, as that removes everything from the water, as you know-even the good stuff which fish need. Rather than distilling it, you water a dechlorinator or water conditioner that removes chlorine, chloramine & heavy metals. It will need to be added to any water you add to the tank & will begin working instantly. AquaClear (Walmart, PetSmart) or Novaquel & Prime used together (PetSmart) are good brands.
And no, letting the water sit out to remove won’t work cuz many places now use chloramines instead or chlorine, which are equally as bad for fish & chloramines don’t evaporate from the water no matter how long it sits out.
