How do i take care of my betta fish?
i just got a betta fish for my birthday.
its in a small tank with a fe decorations, and rocks at the bottom.
i go to school, so im worried about feeding it
please, for me, answer these four questions:
when and how often should i feed it?
when do i clean its cage?
does it need sunlight?
and will it being next to my super loud iHome hurt it?

The instructions on the package say something like feed him 4-6 pellets a few times a day. Just follow the instructions and you’ll be good. You can pretty much feed him til he’s full each time.
Buy a tank vacuum at any fish store. It looks like a plastic tube, and on the end is a wider hard plastic end. You use it like a syphon to suck out the water into a bucket on the floor. You can literally vacuum the rocks in the bottom because the junk will get sucked up, but the rocks are too heavy and will stay behind. Suck out all the water from his tank once a week and replace it. Then when the tank is starting to look dirty with algae and crud, do a full clean….probably twice a month. When you clean his tank, DON”T USE SOAP! Just use hot water and Kosher Salt. Fill it with salt and water and wipe it down with a cloth or brush that you only use for cleaning the tank. Soap can leave small amounts of residue in the tank that will hurt your fish.
Sun shouldn’t be that bad, but perhaps you should put him somewhere that’ll give him the option of swimming to a shadow……does he have a little cave or something? You could buy a thermometer and watch to make sure his temp doesn’t go up crazy high. 75 or 76 is probably max.
I can’t imagine the sound will be bad for him unless the speaker is aimed directly at his home.
If you ever see him have trouble swimming (like he sinks to the bottom or floats to the top) or he becomes lazy, won’t eat, etc, take him to a good fish store (not just a petco) and ask. There may be a viral thing that you can fix. If he ever gets white flaky stuff on him, that’s a fungus and can be fixed with chemicals from a fish store.
