Why are there so many bubbles in my fish tank?
I just cleaned my betta fish tank today.He has no filter.Then when he was in his other tank,I noticed that there were a lot of bubbles all over the tank. don’t know how to take it out.What can I do?It is also on his rock,and accessory.Please help!
It is not a bubble nest. It is from the tap water. Generally it is OK, but it can cause problems.
Many times people misdiagnose air bubble cause ailments as other diseases like swim bladder, tumors and bloat, but really it is trapped air in the fish cause by too much micro bubbles. THe bubbles ones attached to the side of the tank and objects is generally ok, it is while they are still suspended in the main water column that they can be a hazard. Usually you see the negative effects more in goldfish.
Stirring the water and letting it settle or clear before adding it to the tank is a nice easy step to help prevent the bubbles. This is one of the often overlooked reasons for letting water sit or age.
So unless the fish shows signs of being sick, don’t worry as it is probably fine. Next time let the water sit or stir it up a bit before adding it to the tank.
I also do agree that a filter is a good product to get your betta. He also should be kept at about 80F.
