Betta Fish Male Female when can i put my female betta fish back with my male betta…..PLEASE ANSWER!!?
I just got a female betta fish and a male as well. I put them in the same bowl and they started getting a little aggressive towards eachother. My friend who is watching them took the male into a separate bowl and put the bowls side by side. I want to know when i can put them back together so they do not fight. please asnwer this asap!
You can’t. Plain and simple. Bettas need to be separated whether they be male or female. You can have several females in a tank together but that is a long difficult process and hard to achieve for a beginner.
are DISCUS hard to take care of? and are they expensive?
i found this shop here in my place selling about five discus,(its rare here in my place to find one who’s really selling such fish, i dont know)
and i was shocked because it is so beautiful and cute, and OMG, it is soooo expensive, its about 5 times the price of my oscar fish, for just one piece of discus, its really OMG.
so, is discus really that deserving to have such price?
i mean, is it really that expensive?
oh, with that, i can buy a semi matured flowerhorn already.!
so, any comments?
Discus IMO are indeed the king of the aquarium, but they are very sensitive to water conditions and to their general environment. To be successful you must be dedicated to making quite regular water changes and feeding them properly as they’re prone to bloat, which will kill them. They also need at least ten gallons of water space each (I keep four in 92 gallons), and a temperature of 82-84 degrees, which is too warm for most other tropical fish.
Discus are also very picky about tankmates. They do best in social groups of their own kind, but if you happen to get a bully in the group, the one at the bottom of the pecking order will hide, turn dark, go anorexic, and eventually die. Their bullying style is very subtle, even discreet, but the victim is so sensitive that that’s all it takes.
They don’t care for many tankmates of other species, although cardinal or rummy nose tetras are accepted. A bushy nose pleco or one redtail shark is fine.
Don’t even think about combining discus with your oscar! It would not work. If you are not willing and able to build everything around your discus’ preferences, these beautiful fish will be a very expensive mistake.
