Different Betta Fish Colors Is my betta fish dying?
I’ve had my male betta fish for several months now. I use regular tap water with conditioner. The tank also has an airater included. Just latley I decided to add another fish (neon tetra) to his tank which i think caused a melt down by my betta fish. I didn’t have my tetra for more than 3 hours before it died. I had also changed up the surface of my bettas tank from blue marbles to a mixture of different colored rocks. I checked on my betta this morning and he is laying on his rock not moving his gills and barley breathing. I know hes not sleeping something is wrong. I’m afraid he might die soon. Should i have not of added another fish or did the tetra bring some sickness into his tank?
I didn’t add any other betta fish or put it next to any other tank with a betta in it. I only added a neon tetra.
It’s usually ok to add other fish in with a male Betta, just as long as it’s not another male Betta. From the scenario you’ve described, it sounds like the neon tetra may have been sick when you purchased it, and contaminated the water, causing your Betta to become sick.
Yeah, I think your poor little Betta is a goner. Sorry.
Breeding Betta Fish Facts betta fish breeding help or facts you can say?
if you breed your betta fish, how many eggs will it usually hatch? i want to breed my fish but how do i take care of the baby bettas if they’re together. don’t they fight? and when do you take them out seperately so that they don’t fight? my male is making bubble nests. i just need facts about betta fish breeding. thanks!
the male is making the nest either because he is happy with his surroundings or he is ready to mate, when you do get a female put her in a jar with a cardboard box blocking them 2 and only let the male see the female for 10 minutes everyday this will get him more excited do this for about 2 months, n only when you feel confident you add the female to the males tank, after this you carefully watch the 2 and once they do breed and the eggs are fertilize the male will take the eggs and put them in the nest at this point take the female out and the male will care for the eggs. NOTE you dont need to feed the male because he will just eat the defective eggs and keep the nest tidy until they are born
I have been wanting to breed fish for profit for some time, but I am wondering which fish would bring in the most profit both with private people or pet stores that buy fish? I was thinking breeding discus, african cichlids, or some sort of saltwater fish. I am open to suggestions. Also, I know how hard it can be to breed some of the more profitable species, but I am going to try anyway. My tanks sizes will be 10( for fry or small saltwater tank) to 55 gallons.
Thanks!!
P.S. I have 5 years of experience keeping and breeding fish like guppies, bettas, convicts, fire mouths, and others
I am not interests in breeding hybrids like flower horns.
As with breeding all animals, at least at first, you will spend more money then make a profit. Not only do you have to buy the breeding equipment, but also the breeding pair, which can add up.
When I’m breeding, I think as a profit more as a donation, some extra money I can use to improve my equipment and fish.
I personally like discus the best out of your choices. They are fairly easy to breed once they have paired off. I’ve never actually owned any saltwater fish, but I do know that they sell for a lot. Saltwater tanks can be a bit pricey though.
